This marks the second wave of enforcement in 2025, aimed at shutting down illegal gaming platforms that operate outside of state law.
Multiple Operators Targeted in Latest Wave
On June 30, 2025, the ADG directed seven sites to immediately halt all online gambling activities. Alongside Stake.us, the orders went to:
- ReBet (sports betting)
- Novig (peer-to-peer exchange)
- Dallas Safari Club (raffle)
- Fanthem (raffle)
- BettorEdge (multiple game types)
- High Five (multiple game types)
ADG Director Jackie Johnson emphasized the department’s stance: “Illegal gambling, regardless of the platform or format, has no place in Arizona.” She added that any operation outside Arizona’s legal framework will face swift action.
These unlicensed platforms are accused of promoting games of chance without proper oversight. Consumers using these sites risk fraud, loss of funds, and a lack of recourse if problems arise.
By cutting off these operators, Arizona aims to protect its residents and ensure that only licensed businesses can offer real-money gaming.
Arizona’s Ongoing Fight Against Unregulated Gambling
This June wave follows a similar crackdown in April, when the ADG issued its first batch of 2025 C&Ds to operators like Modo.us, Epic Hunts, MyBookie, and BetUS. In December 2024, regulators also warned the offshore sportsbook Bovada to cease unauthorized sports wagering in the state.
The ADG cites violations of several state laws, including Promotion of Gambling, Illegal Control of an Enterprise, and Money Laundering. By enforcing these statutes, the department reinforces the value of a regulated market—one that offers consumer protections and fair play.
Arizona has increased public outreach as part of its campaign. Residents have seen public service announcements explaining the risks of unregulated sweepstakes casinos and reminders to use only licensed platforms.
Lawmakers in other states are watching Arizona’s approach closely, as the sweepstakes casino model continues to expand nationwide.
Through these actions, Arizona sends a clear message: if you want to gamble online, you must use state-approved, regulated sites. Any platform that sidesteps the rules will be swiftly shut down, ensuring a safer environment for all players.
